MADISON (WKOW) -- Dane County sheriff's officials said three UW-Madison students were released from jail on their own recognizance after their arrests for alleged sexual assault.
A sheriff's official said Brian Allen, 18; Bruce Beckley, 18; and Prentice Williams, 18, have scheduled court appearances on Mar. 8. A representative of the Dane County district attorney's office said there was no information to release on their cases.
Records showed the three students were arrested on the tentative charge of second degree sexual assault of an intoxicated victim.
UW Police officials said the three students were arrested in connection with a September 2011 campus sexual assault. Police officials said the victim was not a student.
The Daily Cardinal reported Allen and Williams were receiving full tuition scholarships as part of the Pre-College Enrichment Opportunity Program for Learning Excellence (PEOPLE), a program designed primarily to help low-income students of color attend college.
