MADISON (WKOW) -- Waunakee scored two goals in the final five minutes to beat Madison Edgewood 7-6 on Thursday night to advance to the sectional round in boys hockey.

Edgewood led 3-1 in the second period, but the Warriors scored four unanswered goals to take a 5-3 lead midway through the third. The Crusaders then mounted a rally of their own, scoring three unanswered goals to go up 6-5.

Waunakee's Ron Zaleski scored the last two goals for Waunakee 37 seconds apart, including the game-winner with just over two minutes remaining in regulation.

The Warriors will now face top-seeded Verona in a sectional semi-final next week.
