FOND DU LAC (WKOW) -- An off-duty Fond du Lac police officer is accused of drunken driving and hit-and-run.
Fond du Lac Police say the officer was driving his personal vehicle Friday at about 2 a.m. when he crashed into a parked vehicle.
The officer allegedly left the scene. A neighbor who witnessed the crash called 911.
Another officer pulled over the man's vehicle, which had front-end damage and a defective headlight.
The police department has started an internal investigation.
The accused officer is a 12-year veteran of the police force. He's on paid administrative leave while the investigation is pending.
