RICHLAND CENTER, Wis. (WKOW) -- Next Saturday night at the Kohl Center, the lights will dim and the spotlight will shine on high school wrestlers competing in the state championship finals. It's the annual Walk of Champions, but to have a shot at that special moment, wrestlers had to win at sectionals.
This is familiar territory for Cuba City/Southwetern senior Jarod Donar in the 138-pounds weight class. Donar has never lost and will go for his fourth state title next Saturday after winning all three of his matches at Saturday's sectional in Richland Center. Donar has a perfect 186-0 record in his high school career.
Future Badger football player Logan Schmidt of Richland Center will also compete at state in the heavyweight class. This will be his third state appearance.
Schmidt expects to play defensive end at Wisconsin next year and says head coach Bret Bielema loves the fact that he wrestles.
Full results from Saturday's wrestling sectionals are available here.
