Domestic violence legislation passes committees

Posted:

MADISON (WKOW) -- There is some legislation to help domestic violence victims in Wisconsin, that is moving forward.

The Tra Ja Act has been passed in the Assembly and Senate committees. It now goes to the floor for a vote.

The bill was proposed by Lisa Blanchard. It is named after her sister, Tracy Judd, and her niece, Deija. They were killed by Tracy's boyfriend in 2009.

The bill would make a third domestic abuse charge a felony.
