Bill to extend no-call prohibitions to text messages

Posted:

MADISON (WKOW) -- A new bill is headed for Governor Walker's desk on Wednesday.

The Wisconsin state Assembly unanimously passed a bipartisan bill to extend no-call prohibitions to text messages.

The current law only bans solicitors from calling numbers on the list.

The Senate passed the measure in October.

The bill still needs Republican Gov. Scott Walker's approval and signature before becoming law.
