DANE COUNTY (WKOW) -- Authorities have identified the man who was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Tuesday morning.
The Dane County medical examiner's office say 44-year-old William Brings died in the crash on the 2100 block of Highway 78 in the town of Blue Mounds.
Officials say Brings was the only person in the car when it left the roadway and hit multiple trees.
Brings died at the scene. An autopsy shows he died from injuries sustained in the crash. Officials believe alcohol was a contributing factor in the accident.
Authorities are still investigating this crash.
DANE COUNTY (WKOW) -- The Dane County Sheriff's Office says a 44-year-old man died early Tuesday morning after crashing his car in the town of Blue Mounds.
Officials say the crash happened around 12:10 a.m. on Highway 78, just north of Syvrud Road.
According to a release, the Mt. Horeb man was driving south on Highway 78 when he missed a curve and drove into three large trees. The airbags of his 1995 Ford Escort deployed. The victim was partially ejected from the car.
The man died at the scene. His name will be released as soon as his family is notified.
The Dane County Sheriff's Office is investigating this crash.
