WASHINGTON (WKOW) -- In the GOP presidential race, Mitt Romney took home a two-state sweep Tuesday night.
Romney edged Rick Santorum in a close race in the Michigan primary.
That was race was called about an hour after the Arizona primary was called for Romney.
The race in Michigan was critical for Romney because it's the first of the nation's industrial battleground states to vote in the GOP race and it's also the state in which Romney was born.
Both Romney and Santorum pulled far ahead of Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul.

Romney's rivals had spent little time campaigning in the state and no money to air television ads.
Romney is also in a tight contest for the Michigan primary, where his main opponent is former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum.
