DeForest police investigate more than 35 cars damaged

DEFOREST (WKOW) – Police arrested three men in connection with more than 35 reports of damaged property on Monday.
DeForest police saw one man walking on Acker Parkway with fresh cuts to his hands while another crouched next to a car in a driveway.
The tires were slashed on the car.
Police cited 18-year-old Conrad Rauwolf for criminal damage to property and released him. They found a bloody knife when searching him.
Police got more than 35 reports of damage over the next several hours—everything from slashed tires to paint that was gouged.
It came to more than $5,500 worth of damage.
DeForest police later arrested Rauwolf, along with 18-year-old Mitchell Spurgat and 19-year-old Robert Downs, and have charged all with nearly three dozen counts of felony Criminal Damage to Property. Spurgat admitted to cutting his hands while slicing tires with the recovered knife.
The case has been referred to the Dane County District Attorney's Office for charges.
DeForest police are asking any other victims of property damage to report it.
