MADISON (WKOW) – The Government Accountability Board (GAB) voted Monday to allow a recall election against Republican state Senator Van Wanggaard (R-Racine).
The GAB agreed with staff analysis that more than enough valid signatures have been submitted to schedule a recall against Wanggaard. The GAB says at least 19,142 signatures were submitted against Wanggaard. Recall organizers needed 15,353 and submitted 23,712.
The election board rejected arguments from all four senators challenging thousands of signatures.
Election officials want the primary for the recall to be on May 15 with a general election on June 12.
