MADISON (WKOW) -- The Go Red For Women girlfriends are in the fifth week of their BetterU challenge.
Tuesday night, they tackled stress.
The American Heart Association says too much stress can create a lot of health problems in women. That includes high blood pressure, insomnia, chronic headaches and anxiety.
The challengers got some tips from an expert on how to be mindful of what else it will take to reach their goal of healthier living.
Challenger Terri Redmond says, "I need to be aware of all the things that are stressing me in my life, and figure out how to deal with them and respond to them, rather than react to them."
So how has the journey been so far?
"It's been every emotion. It's been exciting, overwhelming, exhausting, it's been scary. Putting all the pieces together with nutrition, exercise and mindfulness... just trying to figure out how to incorporate that into your life seems really easy. But it's a challenge," says Sue Stumpf.
