BOURBON, MO (WKOW) – Authorities are investigating the death of four people at a campground and resort in Missouri.
Crawford County Sheriff Randy Martin said in a statement that a mother and three children were found about 1 p.m. on Saturday at a campground about 80 miles southwest of St. Louis.
Authorities are looking into the killings as a possible triple-murder suicide.
The sheriff said the adult and three children appear to have died from a gunshot wound. A handgun was found close to the bodies.
In a KSDK report, the shootings happened in a remote area along a gravel road on the property of Blue Springs Ranch and Resort.
Martin said investigators are still working to identify the victims.
A business manager at Blue Springs Ranch said there will be no comment from the facility until authorities release more information.
