U.S. soldier accused of Afghan killings will meet with lawyer

KANSAS CITY (WKOW) - The Army staff sergeant accused of killing 16 civilians is expected to meet with his legal defense team for the first time Monday.

Robert Bales is being represented by John Henry Browne. Browne is the same attorney who defended serial killer Ted Bundy and mass murderer Benjamin Ng.

Browne has already hinted to a possible post-traumatic stress disorder defense for Bales.

Bales may be formally charged this week. Right now, he at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas' military prison. He is currently in solitary confinement.
