Jets, Broncos complete trade for QB Tim Tebow

NEW YORK (AP) -- Tim Tebow says he had a "great conversation" with New York Jets quarterback and friend Mark Sanchez.

Speaking on a conference call late Wednesday night, Tebow says he's thankful the Jets stuck with him through "this whole crazy process."

After a big false start, the New York Jets pulled off a Tebow-like comeback Wednesday night, getting the quarterback who turned the Denver Broncos from an also-ran into a playoff team last season and became the NFL's most talked-about player -- for a fourth- and sixth-round draft pick.

Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum says Sanchez remains the team's unquestioned starting quarterback.

NEW YORK (WKOW) -- Tim Tebow has been traded to the New York Jets.

The team said Wednesday it has acquired the polarizing quarterback from the Broncos. Denver general manager Brian Xanders says the Broncos will receive fourth- and sixth-round draft picks, while New York gets a seventh-rounder -- all this year.

This move comes one day after the Broncos signed Peyton Manning as quarterback.

Tebow is expected to complement starter Mark Sanchez, who received a $40.5 million contract extension earlier this month. The Jets also had pursued Manning.

Tebow led the Broncos to the playoffs last season -- along the way beating Sanchez and the Jets, who didn't make the playoffs.
