FITCHBURG (WKOW) -- Police officers say they had to use a TASER on a suspect in Fitchburg.
Around 11:30 Wednesday night, officers were called to the 2900 block of Fish Hatchery Road after an anonymous complaint about a large group of people in a parking lot waving guns in the air. Officers frisked all of them for weapons and say one kept reaching toward his waist.
Police tried to take the man, Andre A. Williams, 23, into custody. Officers say he tried to run from them and after a struggle, officers used an Electronic Control Device, or a TASER, on Williams. Officers say once Williams was controlled, they found a 9mm handgun in his pant leg. Police found another handgun at the scene under a vehicle and say two people ran away during the struggle with Williams.
Williams is in the Dane County Jail on charges of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Resisting an Officer, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and probation hold. The incident is still under investigation.
