LADYSMITH (WKOW) – Wisconsin authorities arrested and tentatively charged an Altoona man with his 11th OWI offense on Friday.
The 58-year-old Altoona man passed a stopped school bus dangerously and was later found passed out in his car.
The Wisconsin State Patrol said the school-bus driver in Rusk County stopped the bus Friday afternoon when she noticed a car passing the bus on the right. She was able to close the bus door in time to prevent children from stepping into the car's path.
According to a Duluth News Tribune report, the car hit a mailbox and kept going, but a witness was able to get the license-plate number.
The Altoona man's charges are pending in Rusk and Chippewa counties.
