EL CAJON, Calif. (WKOW) -- A Muslim leader said the body of an Iraqi-American woman who was found brutally beaten next to a note saying "go back to your country, you terrorist" will be flown to her home country for her funeral.
Shaima Alawadi was taken off life support on Saturday. That was three days after her 17-year-old daughter found her unconscious in the dining room of the family's California home. The home is located outside of San Diego.
Investigators said they're looking into all aspects of her death. They are looking into the attack as a possible hate crime.
Alawadi's father is a cleric in Iraq and the Iraqi government will pay to have her body sent back.
