LAS VEGAS (WKOW) -- Investigators are trying to figure out what led a pilot from a Las Vegas-bound flight to begin acting out.
Law enforcement sources are calling it a panic attack, while the FAA called the incident a medical emergency.
Passengers aboard the early morning flight first noticed something wrong when the plane's top pilot, Clayton Osbon, came out of the cockpit unannounced.
They say Osbon didn't close the door and tried to force his way into an occupied bathroom.
The tense situation climaxed when Osbon began acting erratically and yelling incoherent comments about needing to get the plane down. He sprinted up the cabin's aisle screaming, "They're going to take us down!"
Airline officials say the captain had a "medical situation." Osbon was restrained until the plane landed safely in Amarillo, Texas.
