MADISON (WKOW) -- Dane County authorities say the investigation into the death of a Cross Plains resident has closed with the arrest of a 31-year-old Madison man.
The Dane County Sheriff's Office says on January 25, investigators were asked to assist the Cross Plains Police Department with the investigation into the death of 22-year-old Darrel Thurow, who was found dead at his Cross Plains home. Officials say at the time of Thurow's death, heroin was thought to be a contributing factor.
In March, the Dane County coroner's report confirmed that heroin was a major factor in Thurow's death.
Authorities say their investigation ultimately resulted in charges being filed against two men. Jason James, of Madison, was arrested March 31 on charges of first degree reckless homicide. James is currently being held at the Dane County Jail.
The other man, 21-year-old Adam Kruchten, of Verona, is facing similar charges in relation to Thurow's death.
