MONROE (WKOW) -- Police officials say a 52-year-old man has been arrested and faces eight felony counts of commercial gambling.
The Monroe Police Department says Jeffrey Conway was arrested after a warrant was executed around 4:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Police say the offenses against Conway range from receiving commercial gambling bets to using wire communications.
Officials say the warrant stems from a long term investigation into commercial gambling in Monroe, but several law enforcement agencies, including Monroe police, the Wisconsin Department of Justice, the Division of Criminal investigation and the Wisconsin Attorney General's Office.
Conway is being held in the Green County Jail. He's expected to appear in court Wednesday afternoon.
Officials say another man, 50-year-old Werner Rast, also of Monroe, was arrested on December 2, 2011 for multiple counts of commercial gambling stemming from the same investigation.
According to online court records, Rast will appear in Green County Court for a motion hearing on April 27. Rast's jury trial is expected to begin in August.
