OSCEOLA (WKOW) -- A driver is still on the loose after leading police on a chase over 53 miles of western Wisconsin roads.
Ten law enforcement agencies and a Minnesota State Patrol helicopter finally ended the chase. But they're still looking for the driver.
The Polk County Sheriff's Office says the chase began late Tuesday in Osceola, Wisconsin when a police officer stopped an SUV for a traffic violation. It says the SUV fled north on Wisconsin Highway 35, avoiding road spikes placed by officers. Several items were thrown out of the vehicle at officers, including a spare tire and a tool box.
KSTP-TV reports the chase ended in a field 41 minutes later. A 22-year-old passenger from Hinckley, Minnesota was caught by a police dog. A Minnesota State Patrol helicopter with an infrared camera was unable to find other suspects.
