MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison police arrested a driver who led them on a slow-speed chase through Madison.
Authorities say the driver took off after officers pulled over his car near S. Stoughton Road and Buckeye Road. The officers were responding to a report that the vehicle was driving very slowly on S. Stoughton Road.
The chase never went over 30 miles per hour.
Police say the driver got on the Beltline, where officers used stop spikes. But the suspect kept going on tire rims until he spun out in a ditch and hit the rear of a squad car at the Beltline and Verona Road.
Officers shut down all the westbound lanes while they made the arrest.
The driver's name has not been released.
