EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (WKOW) – Three finalists remain for the chancellor position at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville.
The Alton Telegraph reports that a search committee has narrowed the number of finalists down from a pool of 37 candidates to replace retiring chancellor Vaughn Vandegrift.
The finalists include Raymond Alden, Julie Furst-Bow and Carl Anthony Stockton. Alden is Northern Illinois University's executive vice president and provost. Furst-Bowe is the provost and vice chancellor for academic and student affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Stockton is the provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at the University of Houston-Clear Lake.
The committee will soon make a recommendation to Southern Illinois University President Glenn Poshard. The university system's board will then vote on the matter. Vandegrift's replacement will be named next month.
