Rep. Elizabeth Coggs to run for State Senate

MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- Rep. Elizabeth Coggs (D-Milwaukee) will hold a news conference in Milwaukee Wednesday morning to announce her run for the State Senate Seat that has belonged to her cousin, Spencer Coggs, since 2003.

Rep. Coggs announced her plans on Facebook Tuesday afternoon.

Sen. Spencer Coggs (D-is leaving his seat in the 6th Senate District to become Milwaukee County Treasurer, which he was elected to in early April.

Elizabeth Coggs has represented the 10th Assembly District since 2010.

Prior to that, Rep. Coggs was a Milwaukee County Board Supervisor, dating back to 1998.
