MADISON (WKOW) -- A man was arrested for fifth drunk driving offense after a disturbance at a hotel in the town of Blooming Grove.

Dane County Sheriff's deputies responded Tuesday night to a report of a man with a gun at the Magnuson Grand Hotel on Millpond Road.

Officials say 31-year-old Joshua Torrence walked up to the front desk with a loaded handgun and told hotel staff to call police and remove his roommate. Deputies say Torrence and his roommate, 52-year-old Michael Walk, had been drinking and arguing.

Torrence admitted to driving drunk from a tavern to the hotel. When a deputy took him to a hospital to get his blood alcohol content, he fought with the deputy and hospital staff.

Torrence is facing charges including fifth offense OWI and recklessly endangering safety with a dangerous weapon while intoxicated. Walk is facing a charge of disorderly conduct.
