UPDATE: Suspect arrested in Juneau hit-and-run

JUNEAU (WKOW) -- Juneau Police say they have arrested a suspect accused of hitting a parked squad car with an officer inside, then fleeing the scene of the crash.

The suspect is 41-year-old Chad Buelter, from Horicon.

Buelter is charged with hit-and-run causing injury.

The officer in the car that was hit sustained non-life threatening injuries.

A police dog tracked Buelter to an area near Lake Sinissippi, where he was arrested around 8:00a.m. Saturday morning.


JUNEAU (WKOW) -- A Juneau police officer was injured while seated in her squad car on West Oak Grove Street in the City of Juneau.

The accident happened about 11:00 p.m. Saturday night.

Brittany Borchardt has non-life threatening injuries after a 2000 Ford Explorer struck the rear of the squad car.

The male driver of the Explorer got out of his vehicle and fled from the scene. Three other people were in the car and were not injured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Sheriff's Department.
