BARRON COUNTY (WKOW) -- This Earth Day, most people probably aren't celebrating quite like one Barron County family.
Kenton and Rebecca Whitman, along with their baby, have spent the last year living in the woods.
"We decided that we just kind of wanted to leave the whole being in debt behind, and see if we could work less and have more time as a family," says Rebecca.
The couple lives in a yurt-- a traditional Asian tent, but equipped with high tech insulation, granite countertops, and an all-natural alarm clock shining through a six-foot glass covered roof.
The couple says life is much simpler this way, and living outside in the winter wasn't all that bad.
