MADISON (WKOW) -- Police are asking for the public's help in finding the car and driver involved in a hit-and-run crash that hurt a UW-Madison student Tuesday afternoon.
Officials say the 21-year-old student was walking in the large crosswalk across Park Street between Bascom Hill and the State Street mall around 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, when he was hit by a Toyota Camry.
Police say the driver, a young Asian man in his 20's, was wearing a baseball cap and had a passenger in the car. The Camry is believed to be gray in color with a possible license plate number 468 ETG.
After hitting the student, the driver drove towards Lake Mendota and exited onto the Lake Shore Path.
Madison police ask that anyone with information call 911.
The student was hurt, but only suffered bruises and cuts to his face.
