Union representing Milwaukee police endorses Walker

MADISON (WKOW) -- The union representing Milwaukee police officers says it will support Republican Gov. Scott Walker in the recall election.

The Milwaukee Police Association endorsed Walker earlier this month. But the union issued a response on Wednesday to the Wisconsin Professional Police Association endorsing Democratic Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett.

The Milwaukee Police Association says it is endorsing Walker because he has shown strong support for safer communities.
