Green Bay area working to keep girls tournament

Posted:

GREEN BAY (WKOW) -- Now that the girls state basketball tournament is headed for Green Bay for the next two years, leaders there are doing their best to keep the games there.

P-M-I Entertainment Group, which runs the Resch Center, says much of the original bid is still the same, even though they ended up with a two-year deal instead of a five-year contract.

One big selling point is making the tournament a destination event, not just games.

P-M-I is working with the packers to create some kind of "Packers experience."

What happens with the girls tournament after 2014 is still up in the air.

But the boys tournament will remain in Madison through 2020.
