GREEN BAY (WKOW) -- 2012 may go down as one of the most allergic years on record.
All that warm weather we had in March set off the pollen count like never before.
That means the allergy season's being spread out over a much longer period of time, and it's hitting people who have never had a problem with allergies before.
Allergist Dr. Jim Warpinski says, "They never had a chance this year. Their symptoms were already starting before they could have ever started to prevent anything. We're seeing people who've never had symptoms before but the intensity happening all at once kind of hit them. "
In fact, Friday's pollen count was three times what it was a year ago.
Right now tree pollens are the big problem, but pretty soon grass allergies are going to be kicking up as well.
