MADISON (WKOW) -- The second annual Great Mother's Day Giveaway is underway! It's up to you to vote on your favorite of the top three finalists. One of the finalists is Rachel Krohn.
Mom Rachel Krohn is no stranger to doing many things at once. She's mother to six children, works a full time job as a nurse at Meriter Hospital, and is going back to school for her BSN in nursing.
Rachel says, "Yesterday I sat on my computer from 8 a.m. in the morning until 3 p.m." Needless to say, Rachel is busy. Especially, when you add in another person to care for, her now blind grandfather, Sam.
Sam says, "She took me in out of the outside, when I was living in Florida and there was a hurricane." Sam's home and possessions were destroyed in a hurricane six years ago. So, Rachel's been caring for him ever since. But, she wouldn't have it any other way.
Rachel says, "It's awesome! It's a good feeling!" However, it does add to the work load. So everyone has to pitch in.
Rachel says, "We put their chores up here and that's their chore for the week. I even put an explanation for each chore too."
And while the kids might not think the chore list is the greatest, they do think their mom is the greatest! Her son says, "She's caring and very nice."
Her sister, Sara, who nominated her agrees. Sara says, "She does it all without ever asking for a pat on the back. She never thinks about herself and I just want her to know that people do think of her and I'm thinking of her."
And that's what makes Rachel Krohn a great mom.
