RHINELANDER (WKOW) -- The field of candidates to replace outgoing U.S. Senator Herb Kohl is getting smaller.
Republican Kip Smith said he's dropping his campaign.
Smith said he had trouble raising enough money to continue.
The physical therapist from Rhinelander was up against state Assembly Speaker Jeff Fitzgerald (R-Horicon), hedge fund manager Eric Hovde, former U.S. Congressman Mark Neumann and former governor Tommy Thompson.
U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin is the only Democrat in the race.
