REEDSBURG (WKOW) – Reedsburg police cited a 15-year-old girl after a high speed chase Saturday night.
Police say at 11:47 p.m. on April 28, an officer tried to pull over a vehicle for a speeding violation. The driver fled. The vehicle went on West Main Street, reaching speeds of more than 70mph. The officer stopped the pursuit and contacted the registered owner of the vehicle, the girl's parents.
The officer found the vehicle near Pearson Road and Highway 33. The suspect was sitting in the vehicle. She was taken into custody and charged with Fleeing and Eluding and No Valid Driver's License.
Police say the girl told the officer she was freaked out and fled because she did not have a driver's license. She was released to her parents.
