Bicycle thefts increase on UW-Madison campus

Posted:

MADISON (WKOW) – The UW-Madison Police Department says they've noticed an increase in bicycle thefts on campus.

The UWPD is asking people in the downtown area to use a heavy duty bicycle lock at an approved bicycle parking rack.

Also, they recommend locking removable wheels to the frame and the rack with your lock.

The UWPD asks the public to be aware of suspicious activity and report the behavior to police.

For more safety information, visit the UWPD's website or the SafeU website.
