Recall primary turnout could reach 35 percent

Posted:

MADISON (WKOW) -- State elections officials say voter turnout in next week's primaries could reach 35 percent.

The Government Accountability Board predicts between 1.3 million and 1.5 million of the state's eligible voters will vote on May 8.

Four Democrats are vying for the chance to unseat Republican Gov. Scott Walker in a recall election June 5. They are Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk, Secretary of State Doug La Follette and state Sen. Kathleen Vinehout. Walker faces Arthur Kohl-Riggs in a Republican primary.
