POYNETTE (WKOW) -- It took 11 innings for the Sun Prairie softball team to hand Poynette its first loss of the season on Friday night at the Poynette Jamboree. The Cardinals' Hannah Running hit the go-ahead solo homerun in the top of the 11th to give Sun Prairie the win.

In the bottom of the 9th Poynette was down to its final out, but Kirsten Tomlinson hit a solo homerun to tie the game at 4. In the 10th, Sun Prairie's Kristen Hoppman put the Cardinals back up 5-4 with another one-run homer, but the Pumas answered in the bottom half with a Tomlinson RBI double. That set up Running's game winning homer in the 11th. Sun Prairie advances to 11-1 on the season, while Poynette is now 10-1.
