
TOWN OF LEOLA (WKOW) -- A man has been arrested after leaving the scene of a head-on collision in Adams County.
According to the Adams County Sheriff's Office, it happened at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning on Highway 73 and 5th Avenue in the town of Leola, northeast of Adams-Friendship. The driver and passenger of one vehicle were airlifted to a hospital in Stevens Point with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle, 35-year-old Shawn Podoll, of Hancock, left the scene shortly after the crash. Authorities searched for Podoll using a K9 unit and aircraft.
Podoll was later located. He remains in Adams County custody awaiting charges.
Highway 73 was closed for several hours Sunday. The incident remains under investigation.
