UW-Madison Move-Out Week

MADISON (WKOW) -- As UW-Madison students prepare for their final week of the semester, it's also Move Out Week for students in the dorms.

About 7,000 students will be moving out of the dorms through Saturday.

Traffic will be very busy around Dayton Street and Johnson Street. Campus officials say Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (May 16-18) will be especially busy.

The deadline for students to move out of the dorms is Saturday, May 19 at 9:00 p.m. Students are required to move out within 24 hours after their last final exam.

UW-Madison graduation ceremonies will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The University has partnered with We Conserve, Goodwill Industries, Saint Vincent De Paul and Sergenians Floor Coverings to help students recycle during the move out process. Last year, these efforts reduced the cost of waste ending up in the landfill during move out by 32 percent.
