New York, N.Y. (WKOW) –The NFL is teaming up with
several national sporting and health organizations to focus on youth football
safety.
They're starting a helmet replacement program for kids in underserved communities. The program will remove helmets that are 10 years old or older and replace them with new ones.
The hope is that the pilot program
will provide valuable information on the state of youth football helmets. And
program leaders plan an educational campaign on concussion awareness and proper
helmet fitting.
