SHULLSBURG (WKOW) -- The Lafayette County Sheriff's Office has released the name of the person who died in a crash between a vehicle and a semi Thursday.
Thurman E. Taylor, 45, of Mineral Point, Wisconsin, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
Investigators say Taylor was heading northbound in a 2005 Dodge Status and crossed STH 11, apparently not seeing the westbound semi. The semi slammed into the passenger side of the vehicle and pushed the automobile down the road with it. Taylor was wearing a seatbelt, but died from injuries.
The semi-tractor trailer driver, Jerome A. Vogel, 69 of Monroe, Wisconsin, was not injured.

Deputies were called to the intersection of STH 11 and Summit Rd. about three miles east of Shullsburg around 9:30 Thursday morning.
Investigators say a northbound vehicle crossed STH 11 and apparently did not see the westbound semi. The semi slammed into the passenger side of the vehicle and pushed the automobile down the road with it.
Deputies say the driver of the vehicle was declared dead at the scene. The driver's name has not been released.
Investigators say the semi driver was not hurt.
This is the first traffic fatality in Lafayette County this year.
