Wisconsin lost nearly 1,500 teachers this school year, representing a loss of roughly 2.5 percent of the statewide teacher workforce.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, in a report about the numbers from the Wisconsin Taxpayers Alliance(WTA), says the WTA will release a full report on Monday.
The report found average teacher salary changed little from the 2010-11 school year to the 2011-12 school year, but benefits dropped an average of 16 percent.
