Wisconsin boy competes to be top geography whiz

MINOCQUA (WKOW) --  A 13-year-old boy from Minocqua is one of ten finalists of the National Geographic Bee being held in Washington, D.C. Thursday.

Vansh Jain passed the preliminary round with 54 finalists Tuesday.

He was the Wisconsin winner in 2009 and 2010.

The National Geographic Society is holding the event. It will be moderated by "Jeopardy!" host Alex Trebek.

The winner receives a $25,000 college scholarship, lifetime membership in the National Geographic Society and a trip to the Galápagos Islands.
