PHOENIX (AP) -- The Milwaukee Brewers have placed shortstop Cesar Izturis on the 15-day disabled list after he pulled his left hamstring running the bases against Arizona on Friday night.
The Brewers made the move right after the 7-1 victory, recalling shortstop Edwin Maysonette from Triple-A Nashville. Maysonette was optioned to Nashville on Wednesday when Milwaukee claimed Cody Ransom off waivers from Arizona.
Izturis says he felt the injury when he doubled in the sixth inning. He left the game after feeling the injury tighten further when he rounded third on Corey Hart's single. Milwaukee already had lost shortstop Alex Gonzalez for the season with a torn ACL.
