JANESVILLE, Wis. (WKOW) -- Senior Dustin Richards led Janesville Parker to a 7-stroke win at a Division 1 boys golf sectional at Glen Erin Golf Club in Janesville on Tuesday.
Richards carded a 5-over 76 to finish second among individuals on a gusty day that made it difficult on all golfers.
Ian Statz of Beaver Dam finished first among individuals with a 4-over 75 to advance to state.
Parker's cross-town rival and tournament host Janesville Craig finished second, so both Janesville teams are headed to state.
The top three individuals from teams other than Janesville Parker and Janesville Craig advance to state, but a three-way tie for the final two spots forced a playoff between Oconomowoc's Jeffrey Brandl, Beloit Memorial's Kolton Kelley and Watertown's Tyler Egnarski. Kelley and Egnarski won out, so they will join Statz at University Ridge June 4 and 5.
