UPDATE: Madison Mallards home opener Wednesday

Posted:

MADISON (WKOW) -- Many people in the Madison area enjoyed a good night at the ballpark with the Madison Mallards Wednesday.

The team opened the season at the Duck Pond in Warner Park.

They took on the Battle Creek Bombers, and beat them 6-5.

Fans say they keep coming back because of the great atmosphere at the stadium.

"I was here several times last year and you get the bug. This is just a great place to come to a game. There's always stuff going on between the innings and so forth. It's a good time," says Richard Laufenberg of Mount Horeb

The Mallards set a record for attendance last year, and they're hoping for even bigger crowds this season.
