WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. (WKOW) -- The depth at quarterback for Wisconsin just got even more shallow, as both Jon Budmayr and incoming freshman Bart Houston have been ruled out for the season.
The news came from Wisconsin head coach Bret Bielema, speaking at "Badger Day" at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells on Wednesday.
"Jon Budmayr is a guy that, unless something miraculously happens, won't be involved with us [this fall], and then also Bart Houston, because of the shoulder surgery he had, he'll be with us in the fall but he won't be participating," said Bielema.
That leaves Curt Phillips and Danny O'Brien as the only upperclassmen to compete for the starting job under center.
The Badger football team's summer conditioning program starts Monday, June 4.
