MADISON (WKOW) -- Former governor Tommy Thompson submitted his nomination papers for the U.S. Senate seat. It's currently held by retiring Sen. Herb Kohl.
Thompson said he submitted more than 5,000 signatures to the Government Accountability Board.
Although three other Republicans are running -- Jeff Fitzgerald, Eric Hovde and Mark Neumann. Thompson says he's the right choice to secure a Republican win.
"If you want somebody that has been able to accomplish things and get a lot of major pieces of legislation done, you'll want to go with me," Thompson said.
Tammy Baldwin is the only Democrat running in the race.
