Madison College's season ends with loss to LSU-Eunice
ENID, Okla. -- Madison College's NJCAA Division II College World Series run came to a halt in their fourth game of the series on Thursday. The LSU-Eunice Tigers held Madison College to just three hits and no runs to capture a 9-0 victory.
The WolfPack who scored first in all three prior games of the series found themselves behind after one inning in this game. The WolfPack trailed 2-0 after the first inning as the Tigers had three hits in the inning. LSU added three more runs in the fourth inning on two singles and a homerun by their DH. The Tigers tacked on another run in the fifth before their centerfielder belted a three run homerun in the sixth inning to put the game away.
The game was called in the seventh inning for the eight-run rule after seven innings. The WolfPack managed only three hits in the game as Tigers starter, Kirk Savoy, held Madison College batters at bay. Treysen Vavra accounted for two of the three WolfPack hits and teammate Jon Dybevik had the other hit.
Shane Adler received his second loss of the year as he pitched five and one-third innings giving up eight earned runs on nine hits. Adler struck out two batters and walked four. Brent Mueller and Mac Wichmann came in in relief.
The WolfPack finished the year at 45-13 overall and 11-1 in conference play.
