"Get out the Vote" rally comes to Madison

Posted:

MADISON (WKOW) -- Voter turnout will play a huge role in who wins the recall elections.

That's why both conservatives and liberals are urging voters to head to the polls.

Friday, the group "We Are Wisconsin" hosted a "Get out the Vote" rally at the Madison Labor Temple on Park Street.

It included performances by Jackson Browne and Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello.

Morello said voting the governor out of office would send a message to the rest of the country.

"It's critical that people take part in voting in this recall election because Wisconsin is going to make history. There's been an unending class warfare against the middle class, against the working class by these billionaire corporatists. It's basically a kind of financial terrorism against the people of this country."

Morello also said he's been inspired by the political activity of the people of Wisconsin.

Not far away from the concert, conservatives held their own rally.
